At Healesville House, most guests have been very considerate in their use and care of the home. However, we are still required to bring the following conditions of renting the home to your attention for your complete understanding. The check-in & check-out times can only be altered if pre-arranged with us. The cleaners need enough time to complete a detailed cleaning. Please contact us if you have any questions about this.
Healesville House is rented solely for short-term holiday accommodation and may not be used for parties, functions or conducting business from the premises.
The house is licensed to accommodate a maximum of 4 people. That is, when one room is booked maximum occupancy is 2 people. When two rooms are booked, maximum occupancy is 4 people.
We request all keys to the house are kept in a safe place. The loss or non-return of a key will incur the full cost of replacing all locks and cutting of keys.
When only one room is booked, the second bedroom is locked and not accessible.
Cancellations
All cancellations incur a $40 administration fee. Bookings cancelled prior to one month before the start of the reservation will receive a full refund minus the $40 cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled within 7-14 days of the start of the reservation date will receive a 50% refund minus the $40 cancellation fee.
Bookings cancelled within 7 days of the start of the reservation date will not be refunded. There is no refund for an early or unscheduled departure.
No Pets
Pets are not permitted within the house or grounds of Healesville House at all. We do not make any exceptions.
Smoke Free Home
Please do not smoke in the house. If you like to smoke, please do so outside with all windows & doors closed. We have provided small stainless steel trays for your cigarette butts on the front verandah and the back courtyard.
Travelling with Children?
Babies and infants may be accommodated in the same room as their parents, so long as they can sleep in a porta-cot (one is available upon request). Please remember that children count towards the maximum number of people permitted to stay at Healesville House.
When children require their own bed the two-room rate applies.
We kindly ask you do not allow your children to draw or paint on the walls, furniture or any part of Healesville House. Should this occur, you will be liable for the cost of any re-painting or repairs that are required & your credit card will be charged accordingly. An itemised account will be provided to you.
Are you preparing for your wedding at Healesville House?
When a bride and/or her party plan to stay at Healesville House, we kindly ask you to remember that the other properties on site are private residences and no other part of the site may be used for parking. There is one car bay in front of the picket fence and we kindly request you do not park on the lawn please. There is ample parking on Maroondah Highway or St Leonard’s Road.
If your hairdresser is attending, could you kindly ask him or her to place a sheet over the furniture and the floor if s/he plans to use hairspray. The reason is that the hairspray makes ALL surfaces very slippery and we are not liable for any falls or accidents that result from hairspray being used. If you move furniture, could you kindly return it to its original placement and please take care so that floors and walls are not scratched or marked.
Liabilities
No responsibility is taken for personal items left on premises during or after departure. Healesville House does not accept liability for any injury, damage, loss of additional expenses caused directly or indirectly by events, which are beyond our control. Guests are required to ensure all windows and doors are locked when leaving the premises and are advised to close all curtains and blinds when you are not in the house.
We request the accommodation is returned to us in the condition presented on arrival. The guest responsible for the booking hereby authorises Healesville House to collect credit card details and to retain those details until the Healesville House Manager or his agent has checked the property after your departure.
Breakages or damages not caused by normal wear and tear will be charged to your credit card and an itemised account will be provided to you. In the event that the property has been either damaged, whether such damages are wilful or not, it is the sole and absolute discretion of the Property Manager or his agent, without reference, to enter a debit on the supplied credit card details of the guest and the guest hereby authorises the Healesville House to do so.
Nothing in this agreement shall compromise the rights of Healesville House to issue legal proceedings in Victoria or elsewhere, at its discretion seeking damages and/or any claim, which may arise by reason of the negligence and/or wilful damage of the guests and/or invitees whatsoever. All guests of Healesville House or any invitee of a guest who enters the premises are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these conditions.
