In the heart of the Yarra Valley
Holiday Accommodation in Healesville
You have the whole house to yourself…
Whether there’s two, four or even five of you, when you book to stay at Fig Tree, you’re booking the entire property, so spread out and enjoy the whole house. Built in 2007, the house has a feeling of space, with high ceilings, polished floorboards and a thoughtful layout. The two good-size bedrooms each have their own bathroom. The open plan kitchen, dining & living area has french doors leading out to your entertaining deck and garden.
Everything’s provided
We both share a love of travel and always appreciate the little extra touches that make a stay easy and memorable. So, we intentionally set up our houses with everything we could think of that you might want during your stay. From luggage racks to house your cases, to electric blankets for those cold Yarra Valley winter nights, and choice of pillows and blankets in the two well-appointed bedrooms, to the extra washing powder in your European laundry, from the coffee pods for your morning coffee, to the range of Kudos Spa toiletries in both bathrooms – we’ve tried to pre-empt what will make your stay more comfortable.
Works well for families
Our snug makes a great games room (yes we’ve included a selection of favourites for you), a spot away from everyone to escape to and curl up with a great book or the perfect room for a portacot or fold out bed (just request this when you book). With double doors that can be closed off, it gives you a nice quiet space to suit your needs.
Out in the garden
Help yourself to plums, figs, lemons and grapefruits, or vegies such as silverbeet, tomatoes, whatever is ripe during your stay! Chefs will love cooking up a storm in the well-designed chef’s kitchen, it’s fully equipped with gadgets and crockery and the best part; everything can be loaded into the dishwasher. It’s your perfect, spacious home away from home, making it ideal for a longer stay with your family or a friends’ getaway.
Lots to do
The Yarra Valley is very family-friendly – and Healesville and Yarra Glen both have fabulous parks for children to play in. Healesville also has a Tourist Railway with rides every weekend, plus of course if there are choc-a-holics in your party, there’s the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery a fifteen minutes drive away too! A visit to Healesville Sanctuary (15 minute drive) delights all ages, as it is home to Australia’s indigenous wildlife – and its your chance to get up close to platypus, dingos, koalas, Tassie devils, kangaroos, snakes – even birds of prey. Check their website for timings before you go, so you don’t’ miss the opportunity to Meet the Keeper and learn about some of Australia’s most endangered and incredible wildlife.
For the grown-ups there’s a three-minute walk (if that) to Four Pillars Gin, Healesville’s iconic award-winning distillery. From there you’re surrounded by fabulous cellar doors offering a relaxed tasting or glass of wine (think Jayden Ong, No 7 or Payten & Jones) our craft brewery Watts River, with its wood-fired pizzas and live music and of course Healesville’s vibrant Main Street – all within walking distance – with a choice of pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes.
